The Maasai » Maasai Project » Foodstuffs distribution »
In October 2009 and January 2010 we distributed about 150 tons of foodstuffs in 4 villages, because there had been another 2 years of dryness and the people were suffering from lack of food. Some families who used to have hundreds of cows had absolutely nothing left.
We saw persons who picked up a few corns that fell down from the truck during the distribution and this can’t leave anyone cold. So we have decided to start new projects, hoping that they might give more economic autonomy to this people.
Due to the more and more frequent dry spells, they can no longer count on the lifestyle that existed for thousands of years.
